Nevertheless, Russian soldiers are gradually advancing in the embattled Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, and moving west towards Pokrovsk and Krakhov. The Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday that Russian forces had seized two adjacent villages, Prololes and Evhenivka, about 30 kilometers east of Pokrovsk. Earlier on Saturday (July 27), Moscow claimed it had also captured the nearby village of Rozvatke, one of nearly a dozen it has said it has captured in the region this month.
