WASHINGTON -- Vice President Kamala Harris responded to former President Donald Trump's combative interview at the National Association of Black Journalists' annual conference, in which he made false claims about her race, saying "the American people deserve better." "It was the same old show. Dividing and disrespectful," Harris said Wednesday night in Houston, addressing members of Sigma Gamma Sorority, a historic black fraternity, during its 60th annual Biennial Boulevard. "The American people deserve leaders who tell the truth, leaders who don't react with hostility or anger when confronted with facts. We deserve leaders who understand that our differences don't divide us. They are a critical source of our strength," Harris said.
